Project Overview
Shampoo Buddy is an innovative bathing aid designed to make washing hair easier for individuals with limited mobility, disabilities, or medical conditions. After validating the product through a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Shampoo Buddy team needed a manufacturing partner capable of scaling production while keeping costs manageable.
BeraTek partnered with Shampoo Buddy to take the product from a finalized engineering design into full production, handling manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and fulfillment to support growing demand.

The Challenge
When founder Tiffany Platt began searching for a manufacturing partner, the options felt limited. Overseas production carried concerns about reliability and communication, while domestic manufacturing often appeared too expensive for a startup product.
At the same time, the Kickstarter campaign created immediate demand that required a partner capable of moving quickly into production and supporting order fulfillment.
The key challenges included:
- Preparing the product for efficient injection molding
- Managing tooling and production timelines
- Assembling multiple plastic components into a finished product
- Packaging and warehousing inventory
- Fulfilling orders directly to customers
The goal was to create a streamlined production system that allowed the product to scale without sacrificing quality or affordability.
Our Approach
– Manufacturing Optimization
Although the Shampoo Buddy product was already engineered, BeraTek worked closely with the team to optimize each component for manufacturing efficiency.
This process focused on:
- Reviewing part geometry for injection molding
- Ensuring consistent part quality during production
- Preparing designs for long-term manufacturing scalability
These refinements helped reduce production risk and ensured the product could be manufactured reliably.
– Tooling & Injection Molding
BeraTek produced two plastic injection molds to manufacture the product’s components. Once tooling was complete, our team began producing the plastic parts required for the full product assembly.
The manufacturing process included:
- Plastic injection molding of all product components
- Quality checks to ensure consistency between parts
- Production planning to support fulfillment demand
This approach allowed the product to move smoothly from prototype-level manufacturing into consistent production runs.
– Assembly, Packaging & Fulfillment
Beyond manufacturing the components, BeraTek managed the full downstream production process.
Our team handled:
- Final product assembly
- Retail-ready packaging
- Warehousing for work-in-progress and finished goods
- Direct order fulfillment to end customers
By consolidating these services under one partner, Shampoo Buddy was able to simplify operations and focus on growing the business.ts.
The Results
Shampoo Buddy successfully transitioned from a Kickstarter campaign into a growing consumer product. Today, the product continues to gain traction and has found strong demand among niche markets that were not initially anticipated.
With manufacturing, assembly, and fulfillment systems in place, the company has been able to scale production while maintaining reliable delivery to customers.

Client Feedback
“When I first decided to launch Shampoo Buddy, trying to find the right manufacturing partner was daunting. I knew it would be difficult to find a trustworthy partner abroad, but I didn’t think I could afford to manufacture in the USA and still have a viable product. I was thrilled to find BeraTek when I learned that not only could they offer me a competitive manufacturing price, but they could also provide assembly and order fulfillment services as well.”
— Tiffany Platt, Founder, Shampoo Buddy
Why This Project Matters
The Shampoo Buddy project highlights how domestic manufacturing can support startup product launches when combined with integrated services like assembly, packaging, and fulfillment. By handling the entire production workflow, BeraTek helped Shampoo Buddy move from crowdfunding success to a scalable manufacturing operation.
