KZA Lipstick Tube: Bringing a Unique Cosmetic Vision to Life Through Custom Manufacturing

Project Overview

KZA is a beauty brand built around simplifying the way consumers shop for lipstick and lip liner. By combining both into a single, cohesive solution, the brand eliminates the guesswork of finding the perfect match.

To bring this idea to life, founder Kelsi Ziemann needed a manufacturing partner willing to push past standard limitations and produce a highly customized cosmetic component. BeraTek partnered with KZA to develop and manufacture a lipstick tube that met both the functional requirements and the exact visual vision of the brand.

The Challenge

Kelsi had a clear vision for her product, including specific design features and finishes that other manufacturers said were not feasible.

Common roadblocks included:

  • Achieving a premium cosmetic finish in a non-standard color
  • Designing a tube that integrates both lipstick and lip liner functionality
  • Maintaining durability while meeting aesthetic expectations
  • Finding a partner willing to explore solutions rather than reject the concept

The challenge was not just manufacturing the product, but doing so without compromising the original vision.

Our Approach

BeraTek worked closely with KZA to understand both the functional goals and the brand-driven design requirements. Instead of defaulting to standard manufacturing limitations, our team focused on identifying solutions that would make the vision achievable.

This included:

  • Evaluating design feasibility across materials and finishes
  • Refining component geometry for both function and manufacturability
  • Collaborating directly with the founder throughout development

This hands-on approach ensured alignment between design intent and production capability.

One of the most critical aspects of the project was achieving a gold cosmetic tube, something other manufacturers had previously ruled out.

BeraTek identified and implemented solutions to:

  • Achieve the desired premium finish
  • Maintain consistency across production runs
  • Ensure the product met durability and quality expectations

By approaching the challenge creatively, the team was able to deliver a final product that matched the original vision.

Once the design and materials were finalized, BeraTek moved into production of the custom lipstick tube.

The manufacturing process focused on:

  • Precision production of cosmetic-grade components
  • Quality control to maintain finish and fit
  • Supporting product readiness for retail and direct-to-consumer sales

In addition, BeraTek provided connections and resources to support other aspects of product development outside of manufacturing.

The Results

KZA successfully launched a differentiated cosmetic product that simplifies the shopping experience by bundling lipstick and lip liner into one cohesive solution.

The final product:

  • Delivers a consistent, perfectly matched lip color experience
  • Stands out visually with a premium gold finish
  • Aligns fully with the founder’s original vision

By overcoming early manufacturing limitations, the product entered the market exactly as intended.

Client Feedback

“When I started developing my product I had a clear vision of what I wanted it to look like. I had several other companies tell me I couldn’t produce it in specific designs or colors. I’m so glad I found BeraTek. They allowed me to produce my product exactly as I envisioned it. BeraTek provided solutions where others simply said no.

The biggest thing for me was that BeraTek worked with me to bring my vision to life. Everybody else said I couldn’t have a gold tube. BeraTek found a way to make it happen and have been extremely helpful along the way. They even provided contacts in other industries to help me develop my product.”

Why This Project Matters

The KZA project highlights the importance of a solution-focused manufacturing partner. By working collaboratively and challenging conventional limitations, BeraTek helped turn a “not possible” concept into a market-ready product.

This case demonstrates how the right approach to design, materials, and manufacturing can bring even highly customized product ideas to life without compromise.
